How to Install geoip-database software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

geoip-database software package provides IP lookup command line tools that use the GeoIP library (country database), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install geoip-database 

geoip-database is installed in your system.

Make ensure the geoip-database package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep geoip-database *

You will get with geoip-database package name, version, architecture and description in a table
